Dr Agnes Szunai is a specialist oil & gas lawyer, with over 15 years of experience gained in-house at a national oil company, who possesses a wealth of transactional experience in the oil & gas sector covering Central Europe, the Middle East and the CIS. She is a skilled negotiator, accustomed to working successfully with foreign governments and international companies, who is able to communicate effectively and diplomatically. She has drafted and negotiated a wide range of oil & gas contracts and related project documentation on which she has worked with a number of leading law firms.
Agnes has significant legal expertise in advising on and managing a wide-range of international upstream exploration and production transactions, including the acquisition and disposal of hydrocarbon exploration and production assets, structuring, documenting and implementing joint venture agreements, as well as related oil field service agreements. In addition, her in-depth knowledge of the Hungarian petroleum industry is combined with her experience in advising on Hungarian mining law and regulatory matters.
She has 15 years experience of negotiating with host governmental bodies, national oil companies and JV partners, such as Shell, ExxonMobil, OMV Premier, RWE, EOG and Kufpec. She was involved in the acquisition and management of exploration and production assets in Hungary, Romania, Poland Croatia, Oman, Iraq-Kurdistan, Iran, Yemen, Syria, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Cameroon, Russia, Kazakhstan and Pakistan.
