Mergers & Acquisitions in a changing environment

February 1, 2008

bpv LEGAL has been organizing the highly acclaimed “Wiener Juristengesprache” for several years and the focus this year was "Mergers and Acquisitions in a changing environment".

The increased level of M&A activity in the CEE region and in Hungary has led to a number of noteworthy developments in M&A transactions as bidders, targets and shareholders look for new and innovative ways to reach their investment targets and even more importantly to protect their interests. According to these key developments investors coming to Hungary shall enjoy the benefits of electronic company registration procedures, flexible financial assistance and one-man company rules and also the advantageous dividend tax regulations.

bpv JÁDI NÉMETH’s senior attorney, Dr. Gábor Farkas held a presentation on this theme with the title "Transaction Structures in CEE: New Developments and Case Study". In particular he focused on new trends in this legal field such as Electronic Company Registration, Registration of Share Pledges, Client Identification, and various other subjects of interest. A number of case studies gave clear examples of these new trends in action.
