Dr. Andrea Jádi Németh represented the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) at the 48th session of the UN UNCITRAL Working Group

Dr. Andrea Jádi Németh, a member and designated delegation leader of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA), represented the organization at the 48th session of the Working Group convened by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). The focus of this session was on the reform of investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS). The event took place at the UN Headquarters in New York from April 1-5, 2024.

The purpose of the session was to develop comprehensive reforms to the ISDS system aimed at creating fairer, more transparent, and efficient mechanisms for international dispute resolution. The Working Group aimed to strengthen the effectiveness and fairness of mechanisms for resolving disputes between investors and states, with an emphasis on procedural transparency and the protection of state interests.

The refinement of reform proposals was conducted to develop relevant solutions that could be recommended to the Commission and make the international investment system fairer and more attractive to various stakeholders.
